A propos du livre

À propos de l'auteur

E. Nesbit was an English author, poet, and storyteller whose children's books helped shape modern fantasy and adventure writing for young readers. Born Edith Nesbit in 1858, she became famous for works that combined ordinary children, recognizable family life, magic, humour, danger, and emotional truth. Her best-known books include The Story of the Treasure Seekers, Five Children and It, The Phoenix and the Carpet, The Railway Children, and The Enchanted Castle.Nesbit's gift was making wonder feel close to everyday life. She wrote with directness, wit, warmth, and respect for young readers' intelligence, and her influence can be felt in later children's fantasy by authors such as C. S. Lewis and many others. In Beautiful Stories from Shakespeare, she brings that same clarity and narrative instinct to Shakespeare, turning the plays into readable stories that help children enter the world of English literature without fear.
