Axel was born in the heart of Brussels but raised on the countryside. With no brothers nor sisters around and not that many friends to spend time with, imagination grew to be his best friend. Drawing became a way to process, understand and in the end creating the world around him. In school, Axel was referred to as "that strange kid with the pencil" As a kid he's greatest influence was probably Garfield and it left him wanting to draw his own comics. After high school, He enrolled at the Media & Design Academie to be a graphic designer, but illustration and story writing began to take the upper hand again. These days, Axel lives in a small village near Diest with his girlfriend Amke, their 2 cats Pixl & Vectoor and 5 chickens. When he doesn't have to paint, draw or "clay" he plays and tries to build his own guitar, hangs out with some good friends, travels around with "herman the caravan" or paints, draws & "clay" anyway.
