Two tales feature sleuth Jeffery Blackburn, his wife Elizabeth, and Inspector William ÔPoison Can Be PuzzlingÕ and ÔThe Vanishing TrickÕ were originally published in Australian periodicals in the 1940s, and appear to be the only published short crime fiction tales by Afford. ÔThe Gland Men Of The IslandÕ appears to be AffordÕs sole foray into science-fiction; the story first appeared in WONDER STORIES in 1931.
