By understanding and broadening their knowledge of resilience, it should be possible for managers to devise a security architecture that embraces disaster and emergency management policies and practices. As a consequence, the knowledge and expertise acquired will be taken into areas such as security relating to major sporting events and this should ensure that the concept of security is placed in a wider and more strategic context than is the case at present.
