She is a native of Chester, Pennsylvania; graduating from Howard University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Theological Studies. She was voted 1988 Nurse of Hope for the American Cancer Society in Delaware County, Pa. and served as a Medical Missionary in Kingston, Jamaica. Her service to the local church included her involvement with Hospital and Nursing Home Ministries, Prayer Ministry and Neighborhood Evangelistic Teams. She is a dedicated person of prayer.
