Composition is the art of using carefully arranged lines, shapes and colours within a photograph to direct the viewer's eye through the frame. While digital image-editing programs provide various ways to change the composition after the photo is taken, the basic tenet """"good photos in, good photos out"""" remains true. In this book, Tom Gallovich shows readers how to use their camera's exposure controls to establish the focal point of the image and create the overall mood of the shot. Accompanied by copious informative illustrations, this is the ultimate visual instructional guide.

Tom has been photographing for over thirty years. His first camera, a Minolta X-570, was considered a good starter camera in the 1980s. At that time, he just wanted to document nature to create references for his paintings. As his skills and experience grew, he realized that his photos of nature were works of art in and of themselves. Now Tom photographs for the sake of photography. Tom now has hundreds of thousands of images to his credit. He has taught classes and given many workshops at various community colleges. His work has been displayed numerous times at world, state, and local levels. During his commercial and portrait career he photographed over five hundred weddings and thousands of senior and family portraits.
