Steve and Joan Dantzig together run the Hawaii school of photography, where for more than a decade they have been turning point-and-shoot photographers into artists. Here they distil the knowledge collated from years in the industry to help readers learn this powerful practice from the ground up. Focusing on those who have just bought their first SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera - a piece of equipment that allows total control over how an image is constructed - Dantzig and Dantzig show how to turn a craft into an art.
