À propos des auteurs

Leonard G. Feld, MD, FAAP recently retired from Nicklaus Children's Health System. During his career, Dr Feld held leadership positions at the Levine Children's Hospital, Carolinas Healthcare System (now Atrium Health), and the Atlantic Health System in New Jersey. He established the Center for Advancing Pediatric Excellence (at Levine Children's Hospital), which was the physician enterprise and hospital-based program for improving the quality and safety of children. Over his academic career, Dr Feld has been Professor of Pediatrics at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine, UNDNJ Newark School of Medicine, University of North Carolina's at Chapel Hill and Florida International University School of Medicine. His main area of research was kidney disease and diabetes. He has edited several books for the American Academy of Pediatrics and the monograph on Pediatric Quality for Pediatric Clinics of North America. Dr Feld received his MD and PhD from SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine, his pediatric training at the Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, and pediatric nephrology training at the Hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr Feld earned his Masters in Medical Management (MMM) degree from Carnegie Mellon University H. John Heinz School of Public Policy and Management.



John D. Mahan, MD, FAAP is Professor of Pediatrics at the Ohio State University College of Medicine (OSU COM) where he is also Director for Education in the OSU COM Center for Faculty Advancement, Mentoring and Engagement (FAME), Director of the Center for Faculty Development at the Nationwide Children's Hospital and Program Director for the Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program at Nationwide Children's Hospital.


Mary Anne Jackson, MD, FAAP: Following residency at Cincinnati Children's and fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern, Dr. Jackson has been a faculty member at Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City since 1984 where she is Division Director of Infectious Diseases. She has won numerous teaching awards and was honored in 2012 as the outstanding graduate at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.

A fellow of the AAP, the Infectious Disease Society of America and the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society, she has also been elected to the American Pediatric Society, the Society of Pediatric Research and the Academic Pediatric Association.

She has been a member of the AAP Committee on Infectious Diseases since 2009, and is an Associate Editor of Red Book(TM) 2015. She has authored over 150 peer reviewed publications focusing on strategies to reduce the incidence of hospital acquired infection, judicious use of antibiotics, prevention of antibiotic resistant infection and vaccine implementation and education.
