Synopsis

A lot of people want the world to change. Some people want to change the world. Some of these people will try. But only few of them will actually succeed. This book examines the relationship between the individual and society in bringing about social transformations. The theory, as the title suggests, is that true social transformation can only occur through collective personal transformations. Understanding this is critical for anyone who wants to change the world. Those who don't, can try, but will never truly succeed.

À propos de l?auteur

Greg Wurm is president of Change the World Coaching and helps in assisting social activists, social entrepreneurs, and social movements to become truly successful in both their various professional causes and their own personal lives. With an academic background in sociology, ethics, and spiritual psychology, he is tactfully able to bridge the gap for readers between public issues and personal troubles showing their hidden relationships and resultant personal and social implications. From living two years in inner-city Detroit to being raised by parents of opposite political and religious perspectives, he has had a number of diverse and somewhat paradoxical life experiences that has lead him to see the world with two eyes rather than one, allowing a more three dimensional approach to examining the underlying causes of social problems. He is able to secularize the religious and spiritualize the secular in a way that creates a space for both to be possible. This permits his readership to extend beyond any one community and therefore reach more, teach more, and transform more lives than if he had catered to only one target audience. His audience is the world and it is for the world and its own self betterment that he writes.
