When Elissa Williams was 15 years old she told her parents she wanted to open a quilt shop after reading the first book in the Elm Creek Quilt Series. Years later she opened Hopscotch Quilt Shop. She started off small but eventually grew until she was open full-time whilst her mother Heather did the ordering. In 2007 one of their patterns came out in Quilts and More and in the summer of 2008 their first book Christmas at Hopscotch was published. After three more books they sold the shop and they now are busy designing, travelling and teaching.
