Ten-year-old Rosie sat waiting. Her "runaway bag" was in her lap. Two meat-filled biscuits were in her apron pocket. Four strips of dried meat were in the carrying bag. The bag had been packed for several weeks, but the meat was slipped in just a few minutes ago when Ollie had told her this was the day. Why had she done all that? Maybe the next few words will tell.

Ms. Joann Klusmeyer is the daughter of pioneer missionary parents. She grew up in rural Arkansas and learned and served in the little country church her father built and then pastored.
