Synopsis

A Journey to Faith...Barren with a Promise Many of us have gone through periods in our lives when things we expected to happen did not. At times we may have weathered long unproductive spells that were filled with promise but produced nothing. Coming to faith in life seasons that produce more uncertainty and doubt than clarity and optimism require persistence and confidence in that which appears beyond possibility. The journey to faith and the many paths that lead to its development often leave us bewildered and at times seeking solutions that complicate the journey. I have come to know that the path to blessing is laden with pain, struggles, and doubt...but it is through the unproductive times of life that God creates His greatest work. If you are in a situation as described above, A Journey to Faith... Barren with a Promise will encourage you as you journey on the path toward fulfillment of God's plan for your life. Your faith will grow stronger as you view the story of Abraham and Sarah's journey to faith. Bishop Monroe Saunders, Jr. is the Senior Pastor of Transformation Church of Jesus Christ in Baltimore, Maryland. He also serves as the Presiding Bishop of the United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic). A dynamic teacher, preacher and leader, Bishop Saunders senses the urgency for unity in the Body of Christ and the need for transformative spiritual development. He is considered to be a visionary and leader of spiritual transformation during this critical time in our history. Bishop Saunders is married to the lovely Winsome Ricketts Saunders and live in Ellicott City, Maryland. They have two sons, Duane and Darwin, who also live in Maryland with their families.
