Synopsis
David Ribblesdale is found dead in his study-no signs of violence, and suicide is suggested, but Ribblesdale's business partner, Jimmy Armstrong, is convinced it must be either murder or natural causes. District Attorney Pulver is on vacation, but ADA Rodney Colt sees this as an opportunity to investigate his first case and help his friend Jimmy. Ribblesdale's family (wife and in-laws) come into question, as does the family doctor and the mysterious writer of love notes found in Ribblesdale's desk. It isn't long before death strikes again-a sudden, painless death that brings a terrible sleep. Colt must navigate family secrets to trace and capture a malicious killer hiding in plain sight, before more innocents die . . .
