Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772-1834) was an English poet, critic, and philosopher who helped found the Romantic movement in English literature. In collaboration with William Wordsworth, he published Lyrical Ballads in 1798, a landmark collection that reshaped English poetry. Coleridge's works-including The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Kubla Khan, and Christabel-are celebrated for their imaginative power, lyrical beauty, and exploration of the supernatural and the inner life of the mind.
