Take a trip back in time to when life was much simpler, and revel in great details by one who was a young boy in the thirties and forties. These reminiscences offer a springboard to happenings such as surviving, when no one else did, and screaming, as death took someone just feet away.
It was a life of color and spirit: tickling a trout’s belly for food without hook and line, learning to milk a cow, and being accepted by Down East folk, fun for a suburbanite from “away,” as well as a risky winter game and escaping stray bullets back home in Rhode Island, all parts of a life that was never dull and was gone all too soon.
