Greg Lucas has spent nearly fifty years announcing sporting events on radio and television. His career has spanned major college basketball from his college years to Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association. Born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana, his career started at Butler University in 1965 and has had stops in Hawaii, Illinois, New York and Texas. A graduate of Butler he has been based in Texas since 1980 when he came to the state to work at WOAI radio and handle cable television games for the NBA San Antonio Spurs. Moving to Houston in 1983 he has served as the television voice of the Houston Rockets, a member of the Houston Astros television team and college basketball, football and baseball play by play voice. He also served six seasons as the cable television play by play voice for the Texas Rangers baseball team.
