Synopsis
Joseph Conrad returns to a maritime theme with Typhoon, conveying the reality of changing technology and the power of the steam engine as it replaced the use of sails around the time Conrad wrote the work. Begun in 1899, Typhoon was serialized in Pall Mall Magazine before being published in novella form in 1902.
