In 2008, she was honoured to receive the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Award. The author has rescued and guided souls for thirty years. She pays tribute to all rescue workers, saying, "We each know how we do it," because our methods are unique to each worker; just as each medium summons her unique gifts.

In this book, she researched the neuroscience of how we communicate, and the root of such research located in social, medical, and educational sources.

Penny Barber was born in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, and is a retired registered nurse. After 40 years' service to the NHS, she opened her Angel Shop in Cheshire, England. She is a qualified teacher, chartered purchaser, hypnotherapist specialising in trauma flattening, and a trained acupressure practitioner. Her first book, Hauntings Resolved: A Step By Step Guide, was published in 2009. She also focuses on teaching and advising on soul rescue and phenomena resolution. The author currently lives in North Wales, and still lectures and advises on soul rescue and psychic phenomena.
