Before A. C. Dreher became a career firefighter, she taught writing and classical mythology at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, where she earned an M.A. in English in 2014. Her poetic influences include Paul Celan and Nate Pritts. When she isn't working or writing, she may be found running, playing guitar, or exploring outer space via sci-fi video games.
