Synopsis

Can a cop who meets crime and violence every day really be called a peacemaker? Can a man of faith perform the duties of the job he swore to and still honor the God he firmly believes in? Bob Vernon's 38-year career as an L.A. Cop answers with a resounding YES! A former Assistant Chief of Police for Los Angeles, the son of a cop and the grandfather of four cops, the L.A.P.D. runs through his bloodline. These stories show what he, and thousands of law enforcement men and women like him, encounter on the job as they serve and protect their communities. We hope you enjoy these true-life stories (and 16 vivid photo pages) of a good cop in an evil world and the faith that anchored him, no matter the circumstances.

À propos de l'auteur

After years of practical experience, Bob Vernon became the youngest Commander at the time, and would rise to the role of Assistant Deputy Chief. After his retirement in 1992, Bob had the opportunity of traveling to various countries in order to speak about the issues facing law enforcement in the United States. This great success resulted in the Pointman Leadership Institute being born, an institution offering leadership training to officers in over seventy-five countries around the world!
