In his latest book ‘Confronting The Hood Mentality,’ the author himself boldly placed his own life; including the GOOD; the BAD; and the UGLY underneath a microscope to show the early developmental stages of a hood mentality.
His own mentality began to be shaped and molded by domestic violence and child abuse that led to him and his three siblings being placed into the foster care system in Detroit, Michigan. At age fifteen – in an uncontrollable rage – he shot his mother’s boyfriend Frank five times at point-blank range that resulted from deep, suppressed, psychological trauma that he had sustained as a little boy.
Now age 46, he has successfully overcome his hood mentality and now wishes to encourage young, black American youth who may be living the fast life to rise above negative influences and cultural pitfalls; in exchange for a more productive lifestyle that’s conducive to success!
