Charity Michelle Harris, the award-winning author of What If We Were All The Same! spent her childhood worrying what other kids thought about her. She was teased for being skinny and for the way she walked, due to being diagnosed with Charcot Marie-Tooth Disease at the age of seven. Throughout her school years, she met many kind and wonderful friends who helped her when she needed help. Even though she faced a few bullies growing up, she had friends who were there when she needed them most and she is so very grateful for their kindness. At age 22, she developed a very painful condition referred to as "The Suicide Disease," medically known as Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) and underwent brain surgery at the age of 25. Today, Charity has her Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design, with a minor in marketing management from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. She is also a certified ADA coordinator, Charity started her career as an author due to being turned down by multiple employers who would not give her the fair opportunity of employment because of her disability. As an ADA coordinator her goal is to break the stigma of employers overlooking capable individuals who may have physical limitations as she does. Charity is a very talented graphic designer and seeks to make a difference for others, but for now she spends her time writing and publishing children's books that represent all abilities. Charity's mission is inclusivity. Inclusivity embraces all individuals with mental and/or physical disabilities. Gareth Gets A Job was written in memoriam to her dear and unforgettable Gareth who dedicated his life to bring her independence.
