Synopsis

Complete edition of The Cloud of Unknowing by an Anonymous author in the 15th century, with introduction by Evelyn Underhill and transcribed from the British Museum manuscripts. As meaningful today, it is a powerful contemplation for those that love prayer.

This is a must read to think about our relationship with God, and something to own and contemplate over many years.

To assist with understanding the middle English text, many words have been translated in the footnotes.

"GHOSTLY FRIEND IN GOD, I pray thee and I beseech thee that thou wilt have a busy beholding to the course and the manner of thy calling. And thank God heartily so that thou mayest through help of His grace stand stiffly in the state, in the degree, and in the form of living that thou hast entirely purposed against all the subtle assailing of thy bodily and ghostly enemies, and win to the crown of life that evermore lasteth. Amen."

All students of thought should get this historic book. This edition is provided in a slim volume with full text at an affordable price.
