Synopsis

Two suspicious drownings start the day for deputy sheriff' Mack Thomas. An obvious homicide discovered in the middle of an old fashioned Minnesota blizzard followed. Soon, a third drowning victim is discovered.

All four bodies are found to be connected to organized crime, and criminals specializing in human trafficking. Quickly, Mack and his deputy sheriff wife, Lisa, are totally immersed in the hunt for the human traffickers.

At the same time, those traffickers are working diligently to kill Mack, Lisa, and as much of the Cayborne County sheriff's department as they possibly can.

What follows is a series of murders and gun battles, putting everyone, especially Mack and Lisa, on the edge and in constant danger. The question is, who will survive? The sheriff's department, or the traffickers?

At the same time, there's a bear exploring the wildlife refuge in Clayborne County. Is there any way she can survive the fear most humans have of her? Even after she's put on trial?
