One Hit-Wonder is a remarkable memoir that delivers life lessons with page-turning humor and irreverence. As the grandson of Irish immigrants and the eldest of six, Kevin Kehoe survived Catholic school, two marriages, job terminations, motorcycle crashes, and entrepreneurial highs and lows. When he received a cancer diagnosis near the end of a successful business career, he found himself confronting his mortality and thinking about the meaning of success and the power of friendship and love.
An absorbing read that shows a risk-taking maverick, driven by Catholic guilt, managing the craziness, comedy, and adversity of life. A series of "aha" moments lead from one major life transition to the next. One of the highlights of the book is the author's daredevil stunt on the slopes of Mt. Fuji.

The grandson of Irish immigrants, Kevin Kehoe was born in New York City into a Catholic family. He considered entering the seminary, but then re-considered that idea given the realities of that lifestyle. He's a graduate of SUNY Stony Brook, Southern Methodist University, and the Thunderbird School of Global Management at ASU. After years working in business consulting, he successfully founded and sold a software company. Today he lives in Arizona with his wife, Lorraine. They have one daughter who lives in St. Louis. Kevin likes coffee in the morning and tequila in the evening.

Paperback. Etat : Very Good. Who wouldn't want the formula for leading a happy and successful life? In this book Kevin Kehoe defines "happy" and "successful" his way, by sharing the lessons he learned through his adventures and misadventures-lessons that have led him to conclude that being a one-hit wonder is a very underrated achievement, and that it's never too late to be a happy hero.Kevin is not famous. He is your average guy. But for almost 70 years, he's searched for the secrets to happiness and success. And what he discovered is that many of the secrets are not so secret, and that knowing what do to is a lot easier than actually doing it. He knows what he is talking about, as he has lived life at what his friends would tell you is full speed and in fifth gear most of the time-a strategy that has worked both to his benefit and detriment. He's an entrepreneur who started and sold several businesses. He was a single parent, an altar boy and choir boy growing up in Catholic schools, the grandchild of Irish immigrants, a runner of marathons, a racer of motorcycles. And a Stage 4 cancer survivor. Some of Kevin's stories will make you laugh, some will make you cry, and some will make you feel like he's writing about your own life. But they each have a simple insight about living like a one-hit wonder and happy hero. He is never preachy about how to do this, but he does offer some timeless truths through his stories that might help you make sense of a world seemingly gone mad. You may not fall in love with every chapter, but if you're like most people, when you re-read the book, the chapters you liked most the first time will be different the second time around.
