Synopsis

Are engineers an underrated cult? No! Are they an overrated cult? Well, the time shift is clearly seen in people’s perspective. With lots and lots of engineering colleges popping at every nook, people see it as just another course of qualifying the criteria of a degree. But is it so? I don’t think so as it takes 4 years of pain not just to gain more than an engineered robotic mind but also a mind filled with spirit and human values.

This book is a journey of a teenager, Sankalp, who, like the majority of his classmates, joined engineering knowing very little to almost zilch about what he was stepping into. Coaching institutes and entrance examinations led him to an engineering college, where he travelled the course to finally become a degree holder. But, then came the events that changed his perspective on life. Something we can also term in layman terms as becoming mature. Every day was a lesson learnt towards the path of becoming a better human.

Saumya Gupta

Saumya Gupta loves reading and her dreams are made of libraries and bookstores. Born and raised in the city of lakes, Udaipur, Saumya has been to several places owing to her father’s job in the army. Exploring places has left her keenly interested in people and their character shades. Apart from pouring her soul out through a pen, Saumya has also dabbled at expressing characters of people through the performance arts like stage and street theatre. It was only after completing her graduation from Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Technology in 2011, she discovered that understanding culture, history and politics is her true calling. Thus, she decided to pursue her Masters in Anthropology from the University of Chicago in 2013. She uses words as fuel to drive all her dreams and ideas and often claims to become a full-time storyteller. She often finds herself using the vocabulary of love to bind people and words together to tell her stories.
