Levin has had several careers, mostly in parallel. He is author of two previous award-winning poetry volumes, Watered Colors (2014) and Man Overboard (2018), and co-author of an acclaimed multimedia concert documentary about young Jewish pianists juggling careers and child care under and after Hitler's Third Reich, Two Pianos: Playing for Life. His feature, political and professional writing has appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Harvard Magazine, and numerous other periodicals. He has been a contributing writer or editor to The Pennsylvania Gazette, the Journal of Air Pollution Control, and BioCycle Magazine.
