Veterans returning home from war endure multiple tours of duty, many experience traumatic injury, and more of the wounded survive than ever before. Upon returning home veterans sometimes need help parsing information and paperwork, both of which they have in abundance so that they can make their own choices and better understand their options. This article supports the point that helping veterans determine a path is where colleges need to begin, MacLean, & Kleykamp. (2014). The research supports the strengths of the veteran population, along with the burdens and challenges of this population. The article ends with the discussion of how the GI Bill pays for the Veterans college tuition. The conclusion of this article supports effective University programs serving veterans and the ingredients that make the programs effective.
