Synopsis

An infinity pool is a reflecting or swimming pool; this is where the water flows over one or more edge which produces a visual effect of water with no boundaries. Pools are designed so that the edge appears to merge with a larger body of water such as the ocean, sky, forest or mountain. They often are seen at resorts, estates and in other luxurious or special places.Infinity pools are expensive an require extensive structural, mechanical and architectural specification due to the fact that they are often built in precarious locations. The high cost of infinity pools often arises from elaborate sound structural engineering systems that anchor them to hillsides. An infinity pool is designed to play a visual trick on the eye to make you think that there is no separation between the water and surrounding landscape features. To understand how an infinity pool works, imagine a waterfall. You see water go over the edge of a waterfall and disappear. The water flows down to a lower level and is captured in a lower pool which then overflows again as more volume cascades down from the top. The water is then pumped back into the upper pool to create a continuous overflow.
