I don’t presume to be an expert on parenting or marriage or love or life. This is not a “how-to” book. It may even seem to be a “how-not-to” book at times. This book is a compilation of many pieces I’ve written over the years that offer glimpses into what I think is probably a pretty common life: one filled with mistakes and laughter and heartache and proud moments. It is my hope that readers will be able to relate to the stories and find some joy or warmth or comfort in them.As for the title, well you’ll see in chapter one where it originates, but don’t we all feel a bit like rubber bands in life? We are pulled this way and that, stretching to our limits at times, all the while hoping to bounce back and return to ourselves. We’re resilient, just like rubber bands. We stretch.
