Synopsis

"Mason and The Pandemic," written and illustrated by a Grandmother/Granddaughter duo, takes readers through the emotions of six-year-old Mason as he relearns what his world means to him in the midst of what he likes to call, "The Corona." Author Pamella Fine writes as her Grandson Mason and describes all of the activities he enjoyed before "The Corona," how his world has changed, and how it all makes him feel. This unique children's book helps kids and adults alike to understand that even though a serious virus has changed our world, that even though we all have lots of unanswered questions, our world is not reduced to its' scariest parts and we can still find the good amidst it all.

À propos des auteurs

Pamella Fine is, first and foremost, a proud Grandmother to Mason, Zachary, and Cadence and step-grandmother to Leah and Alex. She is retired from a long career in the insurance industry where she often did public speaking and authored articles on pertinent insurance topics. As a hobby, she has taught cooking classes and given cooking demonstrations in many venues. She is always volunteering in some capacity for the homeless, abused, or disenfranchised. She currently lives on the East Coast and, until "The Corona" changed the world, was a frequent traveler. Pamella wrote this book because she watched her Grandson, Mason, process and accept a complete disruption in his life and his family's lives. She felt that he had some very valuable life lessons to share with other children. Her grandchildren are her heart and this book is an expression of that love.

Cadence Paramore is an English major at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. She's an artist, photographer, and writer. Some smaller pieces that she's accomplished-- drawings, photographs, and poems-- have been published in three editions of her high school's literary and art magazine, The Cougar Journal, and one edition of her college's literary and art journal, The Firethorne. She also had a photograph displayed in the 2019 Honors Visual Art Exhibition at the Minnesota Museum of American Art when she was a senior in high school. She lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is hoping to one day write a book of her own and pursue a career in publishing or become an English teacher.
