Allison is a native of Greensboro, North Carolina who loves crafting, yoga, and coffee. She lives with her two children, a bunch of pets, and a comic-book loving husband. She was inspired to write children's books because of her passion for children's literature and mental health awareness. She hopes her book will help kids learn the importance of self-advocacy and setting healthy boundaries from an early age.

Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, Shannon Gercken is a children's book illustrator and free-lance artistry her with her most current Juliet's Journey: Happiest at Home. As a stay-at-home mom by day and illustrator by night, she finds joy in pursuing her artistic passions alongside her husband, Nick, and her children, Atticus and Wendy. Her passion in particular is to capture the diversity and beauty of people around her and communicate truth through her stories. Her dreams for the future are to continue illustrating children's books and eventually become a 2D animator.
