Synopsis

"You Matter" perfectly describes the uniqueness of every child, and all the wonderful ways we can express ourselves. Parents, your children will feel loved and appreciated as you spend time reading to them about the adventures of Tony Baloo, an overstuffed bear, who wants all people to know - "You Matter". Tony Baloo found himself on a shelf in a secondhand store, watching life pass him by. Author, Nora Almazan, brought him home to live with her. His story unfolds as he shares his adventures with children, always encouraging a love of self and others. We all have a space on planet earth - what we do with that space is the most important aspect of our lives. Tony Baloo helps children to see how different we all are and how similar we are as well. Being different is as wonderful as being similar. How we find our similarities and rejoice in our differences is the message Tony Baloo wants to share. The beautiful illustrations help tell the stories of this fun loving bear who will quickly become your child's best friend. Illustrator, Jason Fowler, displays the uniqueness of each one of us. Together, Nora, Jason, and Tony spread an important message about who we are as individuals and friends. Your child will grow to love Tony and learn to understand the importance of being exactly who he/she was created to be. This is a book your child will want to read over and over again.

À propos des auteurs

Nora Almazan lives in the Northeast Georgia Mountains with her husband Rolando. Nora has 6 children, 7 stepchildren, and 18 grandchildren. She has authored many books as a ghostwriter and in her own voice. Children are one of the most important aspects of her life. As "Nonie" to many of her grandchildren, Nora believes the greatest investment we can make of our time and resources is with children. Learning at an early age how very important we are as individuals and how valuable we are is the first step in creating a world that loves its people. Together with Tony Baloo, Nora wants to help spread the message, "You Matter!" Follow Tony Baloo on many adventures, become his friend, and enjoy being friends with others.

Jason Fowler's interests are like 20 darts on a dartboard, but the arrangement has made him the artist and designer he is today. As a child he drew video game characters and comic books. After sampling different career paths in college, it became clear that his childhood hobby would become his adult vocation. He graduated with a B.A. in Studio Art and began work as a graphic designer while freelancing on a wide variety of projects. After 6 years, he left his design job to work for himself. He now splits time between contract design work, illustrating children's books, writing and publishing his own books and raising 2 children with his wonderful wife.
