Synopsis

Lexi the coonhound lives in the dog pound, but every night she dreams of leaving the pound and finding a new forever home.

One day, Zoey and her mom go to the pound to look at dogs up for adoption. When Zoey sees Lexi's sad face, she wants to adopt her right away. Although Lexi is excited to leave the pound, she is also a little sad about leaving her furry friends who have kept her company all this time.

On her first night outside the pound, Lexi is restless and scared. Zoey tried to help ease Lexi's first night jitters. Zoey finally realizes what her new best friend needs to feel safe and comfortable to sleep soundly in her new forever home.

À propos de l'auteur

Meg Martin was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. She enjoys taking long walks with her furry friend, Lexi, who she rescued from a shelter in 2017. When Meg saw Lexi's sweet black-and-tan face, the coonhound melted her heart. This adoption inspired Meg to write Lexi the Coonhound Finds a New Home!, her debut children's book. Through the publishing of this book Meg hopes to raise awareness for rescue dogs and encourage families to adopt from a shelter.
