Synopsis

Some residents of Rich Patch, an isolated community in the mountains of western Virginia, survive the alien conquest of planet Earth. Living under constant threat of attacks by alien drones and robots, they learn to fight back.

Part one of this book was published in Dark Science Fiction Short Stories as a stand-alone science-fiction horror story.

Part two was published as a bonus story in The Adventures of Shawn Haslett.

Those stories are reprinted here, together with the new parts three and four, completing a compelling tale of hope in a time of hopelessness.

The writings of Larry Botkins are informed by a wide variety of interests and life experiences. He has a degree in computer science and was a member of a successful start-up company. He's worked as an engineer in various disciplines, and is an instrument-rated private pilot and an FAA-certified mechanic. His military career includes multiple services, service in multiple countries overseas, and combat deployments in both Iraq and Afghanistan with more than 900 hours of combat flight time. He currently lives on a small farm in Virginia, while maintaining a pied-à-terre in Boone County, West Virginia.
