Teaching on Biblical exegesis, languages and civilization, and narratology, she is an alumna of the University of Kansas and received her Ph.D. in Classics from Yale University, where she specialized in contrafactuals and alternative realities in ancient Greek narrative. She is a spinal cord injury survivor and author of numerous books, including The Bible and the Holographic Universe and the Ifscapes series.
