"The Parasitic Role of Elites" is an easy-to-read yet enlightening historical examination of civilization. Author Bill Greene begins by examining the mystery of why some nations have prospered more than others. Then, after finding the simple answer to that riddle, the author examines possible reasons why the expert historians and economists, instead of solving the question, have merely presented dozens of possible answers.
In this book, the reader will: 1) DISCOVER the lessons of history which confirm the equality of all people, their comparable competency, and their shared desire for freedom and opportunity.Les informations fournies dans la section « Synopsis » peuvent faire référence à une autre édition de ce titre.
Bill Greene's passion for history and economics began when he participated in the Program in American Civilization at Princeton University. There he majored in Political Science and received his AB degree with a Senior Thesis on International Law. He subsequently earned an MBA degree from Babson College with a Thesis on International Economics. He also studied International Law at the Peace Palace Program in the Hague, Netherlands, entered the Doctoral Program at Harvard Business School, and served on its faculty as a Research Associate, publishing over fifty business cases for the International Clearing House of Case Studies.
As a CPA, experienced in financial reporting and taxation, he has served as a director, trustee, and officer for corporations, trusts, and philanthropic institutions. Throughout his career he has pursued an interest in governance by serving in several elected positions at both the local and state levels and by publishing three prior books concerning history and economics. However, he readily admits that a love of farming, sailing, and family has frequently diverted his attention to those pleasant and rewarding pastimes. He lives in northern New Hampshire, in the White Mountains, with his wife Catherine, a few dogs, chickens, and a herd of Hereford cattle and tries to keep up with his twenty-seven children and grandchildren. Jim Rumford is the author of "Tobacco, Trusts, and Trump, How America's Forgotten War Created Big Government".Les informations fournies dans la section « A propos du livre » peuvent faire référence à une autre édition de ce titre.
