Synopsis

After 25 years in the business world, Mr. W moves out of his comfort zone and accepts a job as a teacher of career exploration at a big-city middle school. As he strives to connect with his students, he finds them creative and complicated. Often their roles reverse themselves. The teacher becomes the student, and the students become the teacher.

Progressing through the school year together, they share laughs, shed tears, and learn from each other what is most important in life. Take a journey with Mr. W and meet an amazing cast of unique characters including the magician, the twins from a refugee camp, the highly relatable slob, the dead man in the courtyard, and the truant babysitter. Enjoy heartfelt stories such as Tag, You're It, The Roller Coaster Ride, Extra Credit for Sarcasm, Running Through Cobwebs, and The Empty Desk. This book applies way beyond the classroom. It reads like a journal with life lessons, coaching, and humor. Never underestimate a middle school student. They are amazing in many ways!
