Synopsis

Chroniculus - the Mighty Magister Temporum is a tyrannical sorcerer who has been searching in vain for the lost seventh Universal Key to Time which will make him be the supreme master of time - past, present and future. After a period of over a century during which the Key has lain dormant, he has been alerted to its sudden activity in a Scottish Highland village during the celebration of Hogmanay in the last few hours of the leap year, twenty sixteen. In order to thwart their brother, his sisters - the Sorores Aureae - have recruited four Innocents. They are the Ginger Macs so called on account of their ginger hair and their names which begin with Mac. This sequel to The Ginger Macs: The Hourglass of Destiny, takes place in Lancashire witch country and the Scottish Highland village of Strathpeffer and tells of Chroniculus’s attempts to locate and retrieve the Key. Only the Ginger Macs (Brodie, Sheena, Murdo and Rory) with their History teacher-Miss Nutter, a descendent of a Lancashire witch and the mysterious caretaker of Ashlar House, Jonah Habergham can hope to defeat him.
