Synopsis

I compiled this short series of stories from the fourth grade year that I moved from Korea to Vancouver, Canada. These stories focus on my first impressions and adjustments to a new country. I hope that, by sharing my challenges and excitements as I acclimated to Canada, I can provide a view into how culture shock and cultural assimilation can affect young people. Beyond a record of my personal growth, I hope that this series of stories can offer valuable lessons or comfort to future international students who find themselves navigating a new culture, society, or country.
