Dr. Sturdivant is an Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Instruction. She earned a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching with a cognate in Early Childhood Education. Additionally, she has a Master's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with a specialization in Child Development and earned a BA in Linguistics with a minor in African and African American studies. After alarming findings arose from her study on how Black girls saw themselves, as evidenced through their play, she has been on a mission to support educators and parents, and anyone else that cares, in their journeys to facilitate healthy racial identities in young children. This book is one part of these efforts. Dr. Sturdivant can be reached at toniphd.com.
