There are three topics covered by the GRE: (1) Analytical Writing Measure (essay writing); (2) Verbal Reasoning Measure (questions primarily involving reading comprehension, vocabulary, and some logical analysis); and (3) Quantitative Reasoning Measure (math). The Analytical Writing Measure is always the first measure you encounter on the test. This means that you will draft both 30-minute essay tasks first.
