More than 6.5 million unwanted pets enter animal shelters each year, greatly overwhelming available resources. In this book, author and award-winning photographer Margaret Bryant tells the story of some of those dogs who were lucky enough to be rescued and find their forever homes. Readers will enjoy a range of inspiring and feel-good tales - plus over 150 unique, personality-filled portraits - that show the way dogs enrich the lives of people young and old, teach humans how to slow down and live life, show humans how to have fun, protect their people from danger, and serve as our steadfast companions in this journey we call life. There's also plenty of information about getting started in making a difference in homeless dogs' lives - and choosing the right dog for you. With its evocative portraits and poignant stories, this book will delight dog lovers and animal rescue advocates of all ages.
