Synopsis

Meet fourteen-year-old SophieCooper―red-headed Cuban-American, high school freshman, and daughter of aloving father currently under house arrest for embezzlement and moneylaundering. While her mother struggles to support the family and her brattyyounger brother, Kit, sits around tinkering with his “inventions,”Sophie has only one goal: clearing her father’sname.

When an internship opensup at the local news station, Sophie seizes the chance to do a littleinvestigating of her own. Unfortunately, WMIA 7 isn’t exactly CNN. Inbetween logging Betacam tapes and fetching coffee for the station’swashed-up reporting team, Sophie sifts through the “broken stories”:crank-calls and dead-end tips reporting everything from UFOs to alligator-men.However, one name keeps popping up: Matheson Savings and Trust, the bank thataccused Sophie’s father of money laundering. Sounds like a conspiracy tothis cub reporter!

Determinedto follow her lead, Sophie sets out to investigate the weirdness, uncover aconspiracy, and clear her family’s name . . . just as soon as she finishesher homework.

He lives in Silver Lake, CA, with hiswife and their two sons.

JosephCooper is an American artist originally from Detroit, MI. After getting hisstart freelancing for local advertising agencies, he attended the prestigiousSchool of Visual Arts in New York City. He has worked for nearly every majorAmerican comic book publisher―most notably Marvel, DC, Valiant, Dynamite,and Image. Outside of comics, he was an illustrator at the venerable skateboardcompany Powell-Peralta for many years. He is currently working and living abroadwith his wife and son.

Born inSouth Korea, Jisoo Kim is an artist who loves to create beautiful atmosphere ina scene. She has studied animation since the highschool in the Korean AnimationHighschool and continued her studies in the Korean National University of theArts, and with a masters in the California Institute of Arts. After graduating,she has worked for Disney and on many other projects including Skullgirls.Currently she works at Dreamworks Animation Studios
