In this decades spanning post-apocalyptic tale, Maceo and Mezzy have never met anyone like each other, and they’ll need all the help they can get to survive a planet ravaged by environmental catastrophe.
“Love in the Wasteland” kicks off the first arc of this epic trilogy that spans a lifetime as the dark mysteries of a ruined world and their own stark differences tear at the threads holding Mezzy and Maceo together. As they endure the horrors of plastic tornadoes and frozen sludge, Maceo proves to be more than just a burden, and they make an unlikely connection. But to their peril… they might not be as alone as they thought…

JASON AARON has been writing award-winning comic books for more than two decades. After winning a Marvel Comics talent search contest in 2001, Aaron went on to become one of Marvel’s preeminent writers, crafting character-defining runs on such series as GHOST RIDER, WOLVERINE and DOCTOR STRANGE. His landmark seven year run on THOR featured the headline-grabbing saga of Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor, and his 2015 STAR WARS series became the best-selling American comic book in more than twenty years. Aaron is currently making his DC Comics debut with BATMAN OFF-WORLD and ACTION COMICS and is also set to spearhead a 40th anniversary relaunch of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES for IDW. Aaron’s critically acclaimed creator-owned work includes the Eisner and Harvey Award-winning SOUTHERN BASTARDS from Image Comics and the New York Times best-selling crime series SCALPED from Vertigo Comics, plus the recently launched ONCE UPON A TIME AT THE END OF THE WORLD from BOOM! Studios. Jason Aaron was born and raised in Alabama and currently resides in Kansas City.
