Synopsis

2021 Hardcover Reprint of 1961 Edition. Full Facsimile of the original edition. Not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. Berne is the originator of transactional analysis, which he made famous with his landmark publication "Games People Play." In this work Berne lays the groundwork for a rational method for understanding and analyzing human behavior. "Transactional analysis" (TA), is a theory in psychology that examines the interactions, or 'transactions', between a person and other people. The underlying precept is that humans are social creatures and that a person is a multi-faceted being that changes when in contact with another person in their world. Berne developed the concept and paradigm of TA in the late 1950s and it has gone on to have continuing influence in popular psychology.
