The future is here. Explore the world of robots and artificial intelligence in this kids' STEM book by robotics professor Dr. Henny Admoni.
Hang out in a factory with a pizza-making robot, blast into the past to meet the robot statues in ancient Egyptian temples that spoke to worshippers, and encounter the slithering robot inspired by snakes that can climb trees! Robots are no longer just the preserve of science fiction. From driverless cars to robots helping in hospitals, the field of robotics is one of the most exciting in modern science. With beautiful illustrations by Amy Grimes, this children's book explains what robots are, how they are made, and how we can use them in all sorts of amazing ways. Dr. Henny Admoni's book answers some of the key questions about robotics and AI, such as should we be afraid? It also looks at the positive impact robots can have on us all, from robots who can help in disaster zones to the robotic spacecraft exploring the Solar System and beyond. The possibilities of robotics and AI are endless. With a hardback cover featuring colourful foil, this book is an ideal gift for technology-mad kids.Les informations fournies dans la section « Synopsis » peuvent faire référence à une autre édition de ce titre.
Dr. Henny Admoni is an Assistant Professor in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, where she leads the Human And Robot Partners (HARP) Lab. Her research focuses on developing intelligent, autonomous robots that help humans on complex tasks like eating a meal or learning a new skill.
Neon Squid creates beautiful nonfiction books for inquisitive kids (and kids at heart). We believe the most amazing stories are real ones, so our books are for children who want to decipher ancient scrolls, orbit distant stars, and dive into the deepest oceans. Our books are a labor of love--written by experts, illustrated by the best artists around, and produced using the finest materials, including sustainably sourced paper. We hope that by reading them kids are encouraged to further explore the world around them.
