A beautifully illustrated first guide to cute capybaras from expert Dr. Julia Mata, featuring stunning illustrations by Greco Westermann.
You might know that capybaras are totally adorable and are related to guinea pigs, but there's so much more to learn about these cuddly creatures! Discover how capybaras are perfectly adapted to swimming, why they like birds riding on their backs, and what makes them eat their own poop! You'll also discover what it takes to become a capybara zoologist. Filled with simple science and plenty of animal facts, it's a must for all capybara fans! Capybara (Young Zoologist) is part of an exciting series of collectable animal books from Neon Squid aiming to inspire the next generation of biologists and conservationists.Les informations fournies dans la section « Synopsis » peuvent faire référence à une autre édition de ce titre.
Neon Squid creates beautiful nonfiction books for inquisitive kids (and kids at heart). We believe the most amazing stories are real ones, so our books are for children who want to decipher ancient scrolls, orbit distant stars, and dive into the deepest oceans. Our books are a labor of love--written by experts, illustrated by the best artists around, and produced using the finest materials, including sustainably sourced paper. We hope that by reading them kids are encouraged to further explore the world around them.
Dr. Julia Mata is an Argentine ecologist with a background in conservation and rewilding. Julia started working with capybaras in 2017 during her PhD and has loved them ever since! She spent countless hours with capybaras in the Iberá wetlands in Argentina while collecting data on their impact on the ecosystem. She currently works for Rewilding Europe and previously worked on Neon Squid's book Rewilding.
