Synopsis

Pamela Taylor's "trip of a lifetime" may have been the one where she got to touch a 700-year-old book and examine the account rolls for the construction of a gothic cathedral. A self-professed history-geek, she finds the past offers rich sources of character, ambiance, and story that allows readers to escape into a world totally unlike their daily lives. "Weaving a narrative around gaps or exploring contradictions in the historical record is fertile ground for the novelist," she says. "And just as intriguing as imagining the lives of actual historical figures." Pamela shares her home with two Pembroke Welsh Corgis who frequently remind her that a dog walk is the best inspiration for that next chapter.
