Synopsis

In November 2016 my husband Gavin Cox was diagnosed with a Gliobastoma (grade 4) a rare form of cancer causing increasing tumours and cysts on the brain. Only 25% of patients survive for more than 1 year. Gavin survived 23 months. He chose life.Gavin was forced to give up his job as an English teacher with special needs pupils. The tumour in his communication section of the brain was a devastating tragedy for him, as increasingly the frustration and inability to read and write progressed. However his passion for words never left him. Gavin died on the 3rd October 2018.The following pages contain the authors' poems and reflections for the two years that followed. On occasion, life delivered a day that thoughts flowed, but writing was not physically possible. These dates are indicated in the book with a date and a blank space. Everything here is presented as written - as it was intended to be seen.This book is dedicated to Helena, Miles and Harvey.
